A Registered Agent is a third party corporation who is registered in the same state as the entity. The registered agent is a business to receive service of process (SOP), lawsuit or summons, tax forms, etc.. on behalf of the business entity.
A registered agent is required by the state to have a physical location to receive all service of process, state forms, state updates and changes. Some states (even filing as domestic) require a registered agent that is not the business entity. It must be a business actively registered at the Secretary of State in which you are registered. PO Boxes are not accepted for registered agents. ASA provides these services in all fifty states.
